Which watch do you like when mentioning Vacheron Constantin? I think most people will say Overseas 4500V, it is indeed a good stainless steel watch, while in replica watch industry, the VC 222 looks like having a more popularity than the Overseas 4500V. Today, I will make a comparison on the replica VC 4500V between MKS and PPF. Actually both factories have had this replica each for years, and they have been always improving it, especially PPF. Back to today’s comparison. Let us see the movement first.
Both MKS and PPF now have positioned the balance wheel at 8 o’clock. The position of balance wheel is correct. In the past, it is at 6 o’clock.
The placement and depth of the engravings on the movement plates are different. Look at the picture below. The left movement is from MKS, the right one is from PPF. We can see the engravings of malte logo, VACHERON CONSTANTIN, GENEVE and 5100/1 are deeply engraved on the movement plate of MKS, while on that plate at the same position, there are no engravings.
However, on PPF, the brand and logo are engraved very shallowly on another plate, like being printed.
Please check the two gears I mark with red arrow, on MKS, they will move when I rotate the rotor, but on PPF, both gears are fixed.
By the way, the case thickness of both watches is about 11.7mm, weight is about 166 grams.
